  2. I guess that's not the point of my criticism. My youngest brother is all over facebook, and I don't think there's anything wrong with him.

Well, other than being a perfect example of merit apathy (even if he really is an earnest, nice young man).

The problem, I think, is that it's a giant data mining operation - and its latest policy changes fit in nicely with all that corporate sponsorship behind the intrepid founder's ugly little head.

  4. So he's to be hated because he's a rich havard boy? So is Conan Fucking O Brien. Unless you think it's some secret government front for the patriot act. Foxtrot's rather insane anyway: he's paranoid of anyone who doesn't think like him and is also a states rights type of guy. Whenever I try to disagree with him,he thinks I'm a CIA operative. No really.

  5. JM,

Not that he's a Harvard boy. That he's pretending to be a social innovator, in order to cover a massive data mining operation.

  6. So it is a cover for the Patriot Act?

  7. Jack: "It is a data mining operation."
JM: "So you are saying it's a patriot act front?"

A perfect example of taking someone's self-evident remark and distorting into a without evidence, conspiracy theory, in order to make it look ridiculous.

Look, FB is not even attempting to hide the data mining aggregation it is providing to marketers. This is a selling point for it.
