Of course Putin rigged the elections. He's just more forthright about his shenanigans than the Republican-Democrats, who rig elections with "viability" and money, and all towards the same end, but haven't the decency to be equal to their actions.

Jack's an idealist, in that he focuses on ideals. In ideals, Limbaugh and Weiner are the same. And many, many people see others as mere means to their, ahem, ends.
ReplyDeleteIn tactics/style, they differed. Weiner acts as most men act--privately seeking gratification. Limbaugh acts this way and trumpets it. Perhaps we can identify each with the other. Depends on our value of public policy and philosophy.
I don't have any doubt that he thought they wanted it, but some of the women disagreed.

ReplyDeleteJack, I'm not sure that liberal misogyny is 'honestly piggish', as you put it - the way I see it, it's wrapped up in as many layers of justification as conservative misogyny. If you want to unwrap it, you could start with the concept of meritocracy and the moral obligation to obey people who are smarter than you (for your own good, of course).
