"(Nov. 23) -- North Korea fired more than 100 artillery shells onto a South Korean border island today, killing two southern marines and wounding 18 others in a brazen attack that prompted the South to return fire and put its military on its highest non-wartime alert."
Source.
Smacking North Korea around has the added benefit of letting Iran know what's in store.

"...What sort of meager, unerotic existence must a man live to find himself moved to such ecstatic heights by the mundane sniping of a congressional budget fight. The fate of human existence does not hang in the balance. The gods are not arrayed on either side. Poseiden, earth-shaker, has regrettably set his sights on the poor fishermen of northern Japan and not on Washington, D.C. where his ire might do some good--I can think of no better spot for a little wetland reclamation project, if you know what I mean. The fight is neither revolution nor apocalypse; it is hardly even a fight. A lot of apparatchiks are moving a lot of phony numbers with more zeros than a century of soccer scores around, weaving a brittle chrysalis around a gross worm that, some time hence, will emerge, untransformed, still a worm." ~ IOZ

Nah. This game is older than a, well, a really old thing. N.Korea wants something so they start exploding stuff until they get it. They're like a nation full of armed toddlers.
Does this mean that real men *won't* be going to Pyongyang?
Alan,
I actually tend to agree - but I don't know if Obama has it what it takes to play this game according to the play book. He's desperate for a war right now - and who roots for Pyongyang?
I can see them dropping some hell on NK for a host of reasons, even if they end up at the table w/ the Third Installment.
Respect,
Jack
