"...it's not the training to be mean but the training to be kind that is used to keep us leashed best." ~ Black Dog Red

"In case you haven't recognized the trend: it proceeds action, dissent, speech." ~ davidly, on how wars get done

"...What sort of meager, unerotic existence must a man live to find himself moved to such ecstatic heights by the mundane sniping of a congressional budget fight. The fate of human existence does not hang in the balance. The gods are not arrayed on either side. Poseiden, earth-shaker, has regrettably set his sights on the poor fishermen of northern Japan and not on Washington, D.C. where his ire might do some good--I can think of no better spot for a little wetland reclamation project, if you know what I mean. The fight is neither revolution nor apocalypse; it is hardly even a fight. A lot of apparatchiks are moving a lot of phony numbers with more zeros than a century of soccer scores around, weaving a brittle chrysalis around a gross worm that, some time hence, will emerge, untransformed, still a worm." ~ IOZ

Funny

Ray Wieczorek never had any moral quandaries taking payola from the city of Manchester's illegal gambling concerns, while he pushed to keep video gambling - get this - illegal. And he can sue me for hitting the publish button if he wants. I watched him take that payout. I know the people who paid him. I know the rackets they worked for. The Greek mob doesn't have as many cops on its payroll as it used to have, and it's having a hard time competing with its Hispanic replacements, but those gambling concerns still exist and everyone knows where they are.

Everyone, Ray. Even your proteges, the current and former mayors. Everyone in Shit Town knows how the shake down works.

He never had a problem insuring mill buildings owned by political allies. Especially when those buildings burned and improper entry and assessment required him to make full payment.

But, he sure seems to have a problem with poor women getting STD treatments, birth control and routine exams at slightly reduced rates:

"...Another executive councilor who opposed the contract, Raymond Wieczorek of Manchester, said he had asked if the contract could exclude the issuance of condoms. Wieczorek said he supports paying to test for sexually transmitted diseases but does not believe the state should subsidize contraception.

'If they want to have a good time, why not let them pay for it?' he said..."

Funny, Ray. Here's to hoping you get syphilis right up to your eye sockets, you fucking contemptible piece of shit.

It's all the rage you know - Getting up in our vagina's, instead of trying to straighten out the economy and job-up the jobless.

I did a long-assed bitchfest on this recently..not your guy, but the republicans in state and local office in general..their war on poor women. They don't think past their own ignorant noses of the cost to cities, counties and states when it comes to the unwanted children these women are forced to bear. Reminds me of the asshole extraordinaire in AZ, Sheriff Joe Arpaio..who saves the state a few bucks on feeding inmates but costs them millions in lawsuits that they lose.

I wouldn't blink an eye if I found one of those morally bankrupt fucks in a dark alley and I had my trusty Louisville Slugger w/me.

I'll second that Dusty.

Calling out local politicians is one of the best things people can do! I can only imagine the number of Ray Wieczorek's in this country. I should probably find the ones in my neck of the woods.

Noticed your absence; was thinking of you. I regret that there is still so much worthy of anger, but I'm glad to see you're kicking.

Thanks, folks.

The Manch-Vegas is full of these fucks.

My own hands are dirty with it, sadly. I don't feel clean, yet. A few of these shitheads are sucking on the public dick because I helped squash scandals, or coordinated meetings, or introduced rich men to broken women.

Perhaps one day I'll write about the former NSA guy, the Ukrainian delegation and a request for the address of a whorehouse that didn't exist.

Or how I leafed through a very, very bad man's rape book - yes, he kept a book with the photos of his victims - and wondered if I'd ever be human enough to call myself human again.
