My wife is from Korea.
We are planning on moving to S/Korea.
Russia is planning on building a natural gas pipeline through N and S Korea.
From there it could be shipped quickly and cheaply to Japan and beyond.
Turkey has its own problems with the Kurds.
Kurdistan will be a major issue.

Been aware of your blog for a few months , but a have to disagree with your implication that the people of Libya did not rise on their own of were doing so on behalf of the c.i.a or the Italiano.You cannot begin to imagine the absurdity of Qaddafi rule , how bizarre , arbitrary stupid and cruel his rule could be.There are a few Libyans ,not one of them does not despise the personality cult surrounding the great the second they leave the country.But that this is now and has been for months a nato led and fed rebellion is almost indisputable.

I don't think that every single person in Libya falls into an either/or category - with the only two options being either for Qadaffi, or as a stooge of the Western powers.
My criticism is aimed at the "revolution" which is playing out on Western televisions since that is I believe a clearly identifiable extraction raid, run by factotums for European and American resources and banking concerns.
NATO isn't bombing Libya out of the goodness of its collective and yet somehow still non-existent heart. It has run nearly seven thousand separate bombing missions, in the span of six months, so that a particular faction (the ones on the television) can get legal control of resources, and put a legal face on an act of piracy.
There are no doubt people in Libya who are glad Q is going or gone. A joy to which they are entitled, regardless of the opinions of powerless commentators in the relative comfort of occidental nation states.
I'm not taking a pro-Q position, for what it's worth, either, except in so much as anything which prevents the Western powers from consolidating their concessionist/neoliberal hold on former colonial fiefs deserves a second viewing.
